Begin this hike at the Upper Yosemite Falls Trailhead / Camp 4 Shuttle Stop Number Shuttle Stop 7 or on the El Capitan Shuttle Stop El Capitan Shuttle Stop E2. If you are coming in just to do the hike, park at the visitor parking area just south of Yosemite Village near shuttle stop Shuttle Stop 1 then grab the free shuttle to stop 7.

One of Yosemite's oldest historic trails (built 1873 to 1877), the Upper Yosemite Fall trail leads to the top of North America's tallest waterfall 2,425 feet (739 m) above the Valley floor. Do not stray off the marked path, as you will find steep drops adjacent to the trail. Enjoy spectacular views from Columbia Rock located one mile (and dozens of switchbacks) from the trailhead.

Once you reach the top of the falls, the trail leads further upstream approx 5 miles to Yosemite Creek campground.

The views are spectacular as this is the only other point in the valley besides Sentinel Dome where all of Yosemite Falls are visible. Along the trail, you can also get a shot of both Half Dome and Yosemite Falls in the same picture.

Restrooms are available at the trailhead by the bus stop at camp 4 campground.
